Let’s Begin Baking Like Grandma!
Bake Old Fashioned Desserts
Desserts are the finish to a great meal or as a bedtime snack or when guests come to visit. Cookies, cakes, pies and quick breads can be used as gifts on holidays or other occasions to let someone know you are thinking about them. Some can be frozen for use at a later date. Bake cookies to keep on hand in the cookie jar for the kids as an after school snack. Great desserts are the key to any social event. Baked goods can also be a great fundraiser at your kid’s school. You can find almost any reason to bake.
The first dessert recipe I’m going to share with you is my grandmother’s Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
They are easy to bake and are moist and chewy. Be patient as I will be adding more and more of those old recipes. Recipes like my banana nut bread recipe and a very special pie. I hope you have as much as I am with this site and continue to hone your baking skills. I will post and educate you on the most common baking abbreviations used in baking. I will also post technical baking jargon and techniques used in baking desserts.
Don’t get discouraged if one of your desserts doesn’t turn out right. Keep trying and you will succeed. It takes practice and a whole lot of patience. Just remember to measure accurately and use the correct utensils and you should be fine. Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day and the greatest chefs in the world didn’t start out to be as skilled as they are now.
If you like the dessert recipes you have used off of this site, or have questions please let me know. I would love to hear from you!
